This manga drawing book was the one book that got me started with drawing manga. While the book isn’t the best book to start with, it definitely has some superb art tutorials that you can easily follow.

The drawing book is targeted more toward artists using traditional mediums than digital artists. In some tutorials, the instructor splashes white paint with a toothbrush onto the canvas, and while it works great with physical drawings, I wouldn’t use that technique on my drawing tablet.

This book taught me so much in my early days of becoming an anime and manga artist. I can recommend this book, but I think there are better ones out there, and for that reason, this book is the last one on this list.

Digital Artist

I’m a digital artist who is passionate about anime and manga art. My true artist journey pretty much started with CTRL+Z. When I experienced that and the limitless color choices and the number of tools I could use with art software, I was sold. Drawing digital anime art is the thing that makes me happy among eating cheeseburgers in between veggie meals.
